CBR office impaired/slow Internet and phones Please be aware that CBR is currently experiencing an Internet connection slowness issue. Possible items affected: paying dues online, emails sent to CBR will be delayed, and phone calls made to CBR may or may not go through. All MLS software including but not limited to: Tempo, Fusion, Realist, and Kurio are not affected. These systems are hosted outside of Columbus, so they are not affected by the CBR internet slowness. On Nov. 5, 2012, you will receive an e-mail from Vote@CBRelections.com with the passwords you’ll need to access your ballot. A link to the Candidate Bios will be available at that time, also. Please take any necessary action to allow your e-mail system to successfully accept e-mails from Vote@CBRelections.com so you’ll receive the information you’ll need to access your official online ballot. MLS Committee Participation Ever think about serving on the MLS Committee and wonder how that’s done? The process to serve on this committee is different than any other. First, it’s an elected committee with a limited number of seats determined by a weighted formula based on the MLS’s agents, listings, solds and offices. The number of seats available can change each year based on this formula or elected members whose term ends or sometimes as a result of members simply changing offices and then perhaps no longer representing the group from which they were elected. You can find more detailed information on this process here. Interested? First, obtain permission from your broker to have your name considered for the ballot. Next, submit a brief bio or resume complete with photo before November to the MLS at CBR and they will be certain it is presented to the MLS Nominating Committee that is created at the Annual Business Meeting that occurs each year in October. The five selected REALTORS® that serve on the Nominating Committee then meet in November to select the candidates to run on the ballot that is created for the December election process where only brokers vote. Members wanting to volunteer their time to serve and submit their names are very much in demand by the Nominating Committee and always appreciated. EduCard Plus: Free Classes and CBR Discounts There are some changes coming your way regarding educational course offerings with the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. In answer to the responses from the member survey in 2010, CBR is giving added benefits to the members. 1) For 2011, All of the required courses (Core Law, Civil Rights, Ethics) are “Free” to members. 2) CBR is offering an education pass, called “EduCard Plus +”. The yearly pass will be $99 and is good for unlimited number of CBR continuing education classes for one year.
As always, you must register for each class. If registering online,www.columbusrealtors.com, the tuition will be refunded when you present your EduCard Plus+ at class check-in. Or Call CBR, 475-4000, and mention you have the EduCard Plus+ and present it at class check-in.
