Is the MLS system down? New alert system

You can subscribe to be notified by email when the MLS system goes down unexpectedly and also be notified by email of anticipated, future system down time.

To subscribe, follow the link below, fill out your email address and hit Subscribe. Then, check your email. Once you receive an email from noreply@cbrmlsstatus.com, click the link inside of that email to confirm your subscription. Make sure to allow the noreply@cbrmlsstatus.com email address to your spam filter to ensure you receive email alerts.

Any expected or unexpected downtime is also posted on the welcome screen for viewing after the event has occurred.

Realist Downtime This Weekend – Nov. 3, 5, 6

Realist will have scheduled downtime this weekend and into next week. This maintenance downtime will cause inaccessibility from Realist and Realist Classic. This outage will affect auto-population of tax data for listings. The downtime will be mostly late night and early morning hours.

Schedule:

Saturday, Nov. 3
10:00pm – 5:00am

Monday, Nov. 5
12:30am – 1:00am

Tuesday, Nov. 6
12:00am – 12:30am

Please schedule around these outages. If you attempt to enter a listing during an outage, you will be required to manually enter all tax fields from the Auditor record, as Realist auto-pop will be unavailable.

Is MLS Down?

A policy change was instituted in April 2013. Members of MLS will now receive notification of unexpected MLS down time through the Columbus REALTORS© newsletter system.

The email address this will come from is newsletters@cbrnews.info. This is the same email address you receive Columbus REALTORS© e-Notes, c-Notes, and/or b-Notes newsletters.

Additionally, as a part of this policy change, unexpected down time will be posted to the Columbus REALTORS© Facebook page as well.

Expected down time will posted in advance and only be posted on the MLS welcome screen as usual.

Windows 8 and IE 10 Compatibility Warning

Windows 8 – Friday, October 26 – This new version of Windows includes a new version of Internet Explorer.  This new version, IE10, can be run in two different modes within Windows 8. Marketlinx does not recommend updating to Windows 8 at this time for compatibility reasons.

  1. Internet Explorer (Metro) – NOT SUPPORTED – This mode does not support browser plug-ins, Flash, or ActiveX controls.  This means Fusion/Tempo will not function in this browser. This is the default mode and has a radically new appearance.

  2. Internet Explorer on the Desktop – Supported – This mode supports browser plug-ins, Flash, and ActiveX controls necessary for Tempo MLS functionality as long as Compatibility View is turned on.  This mode of IE10 is similar to prior versions of IE and Windows. All Active X and Trust Site settings should be the same as IE9.

NOTE:  Even in Internet Explorer on the Desktop (the supported IE10 version) you will need to enable COMPATIBILITY MODE/VIEW.  Without Compatibility View, frequent Errors may be experienced.

TEMPO is supported in IE10 in Desktop mode only.  Users who attempt to login to TEMPO using the native Metro mode will see a warning at the bottom of their screen that the site uses add-ons that require Internet Explorer on the desktop.  This alert displays only on the first page accessed during each session.

Users must click the Open button and launch the Desktop mode of IE10 for all features of TEMPO to function as expected.  If users ignore this warning and choose to use the Metro version, they will still be able to access TEMPO, but not all features will work as expected.

FUSION is also supported in IE10 in Desktop mode onlyUsers who access Fusion using the native Metro mode will see the same warning at the bottom of their screen.  Because the Fusion login screen requires Flash and the Metro mode does not support Flash, users will not even have the option of accessing Fusion with this mode.

All public-facing pages, such as Contact Websites (client gateways) and emailed reports, function as expected in both modes of IE10 and no warning is displayed to the user.

Union County Auditor Potential Inaccuracies

The MLS department has been notified by the Union County Auditor’s Office that there is currently an issue with the data on the Union County Auditor’s website.  There have been reports of failure to update changes to properties (ie Garage added or removed).  There have been multiple reports of these property changes not correctly being updated on the auditor’s website.The auditor is already working to correct the situation and hopes to have a resolution very quickly.

This immediately affects data being displayed on the property card on the auditor site.  If it persists, it could affect Realist tax data autopopulationfor new listings added to the MLS.

Showing Instructions in the MLS

The #2 policy violation that we see in the MLS is for “Unallowable Data in Property Description/Additional Remarks.”  The most common problem is for showing instructions in this field.  Examples of showing instructions are:

  • 24 Hour Notice to Show

  • Curb Offers Only

  • No showings Thursdays after 5pm. Request 24 hour notice.

Please remember to always place showing instructions in the agent to agent remarks field.  In 2011 the MLS Committee with approval from the Board of Directors changed the name of this field from “Remarks” to “Property Description.”  The intent is to encourage REALTORS® to enter only characteristics of the property.

MLS policy reads:

1.01.06 – Unallowable Data in Property Description/Additional Remarks       $ 25 Data Maintenance Fee

Examples of data to be excluded but not limited to this list would be names, phone numbers, web sites, e-mail addresses, logos, slogans, showing instructions, self-promotional statements, etc.  Names of model homes and builders are to be excluded on new construction listings but are permitted on resale property listings.  REALTOR® will receive an immediate warning. There shall be only one warning per licensee during each six-month period (Jan. – Jun. and Jul. – Dec.) Additional offenses of the identical data field occurring within the same six-month period (Jan. – Jun. and Jul. – Dec.) will be assessed an immediate data maintenance fee.

iPhone 5 and Supra eKey: Adapter Required

Supra has certified that the eKEY application is compatible with the iPhone 5 and the Apple’s Lightning Adapter. Please note that the Lightning Adapter is required to connect the iPhone 5 to Supra’s eKEY Adapter.

MLS Update: CMA Wizard in Fusion…More

Several new features and enhancements have been added to Fusion as of October 17, 2012.  Most notably, the CMA Wizard is now available in Fusion.  A “save as PDF” option has also been added.  Read the list of notable changes below.

Please note:  If you experience a blank, gray screen (no gadgets) when you login to Fusion, you may need to hit the refresh button at the top of the browser window.  If that doesn’t work, you may need to empty your cache.  Call CBR Tech Support if you need assistance emptying your cache.

Recent Fusion Enhancements:

  • New CMA Wizard that allows upload of ANY PDF document to be incorporated into your CMA report

  • Save as PDF option at the bottom of the print dialog window

  • Data Co-op link at the bottom of the search menu for increased visibility and accessibility

  • New, optional MARKET PULSE gadget with CoreLogic statistics, charts and information about the industry (must be turned on with the customize button)

  • New, optional NEWS gadget with business and real estate-related RSS feeds (must be turned on with the customize button)

  • Photo on listing reports is now clickable to open the image gallery

A video tutorial will be added to http://wdwpy.com in the coming days to help users understand and use the new Fusion CMA Wizard.  The basic functions are very similar to the CMA Wizard in Tempo.  Tempo users who have transitioned to Fusion will likely have very little difficulty learning the Fusion version of CMA Wizard.  The primary difference is the ability to upload PDF documents for inclusion in the CMA.
