Offices Closing at 4:30pm – Power Outage – MLS not affected The Columbus Realtors’ offices will be closing at 4:30pm due to a power outage requested by AEP for service on connected power lines. Telephones will be off as well including emergency MLS reporting. The outage may last until the early hours of Wednesday morning, March 12. MLS access will not be affected by this power outage. Using ‘Realtor” in your MLS portal name If you wish to use the term ‘Realtor’ in your MLS portal name, which becomes a URL, there are some very specific rules governing proper use of the term ‘Realtor’. In a nutshell, you may use the term in conjunction with your name (i.e. smithrealtors or johnsmithrealtor), but you may not use it with descriptive words or phrases (i.e. dublinrealtor or numberonerealtor). Conversion Class Update – Policy for Future Event Cancellations All conversion classes are still expected to start at the scheduled time. Cold weather alone will not be grounds for cancellation of classes at Columbus REALTORS® headquarters. Please review the official cancellation policy below. Crime Alert: Seller Told Check Didn’t Go Through An elderly seller received a phone call about a week after closing saying that the check from the sale did not go through and they needed an account number to clear the check. Unfortunately he gave them the account number for the trust. At this point we don’t know if any money is missing. Please warn your clients not to provide financial information without verification.
