Boat Dock – Please Update on Add/Edit For Residential, Land/Farm and Res Rental property types, the item “Permitted Boat Dock” has been removed from Add/Edit and Search in the Lot Characteristics field. The name caused confusion and was determined to be frequently chosen mistakenly. The exact meaning of “Permitted” and what it implied in regard to the “Permitted Boat Dock” was unclear. This pick list item has been removed completely from Lot Characteristics and Add/Edit. A new item “Boat Dock” has been added as a replacement. The new item “Boat Dock” appears in the Exterior Amenities Field. The name is simply “Boat Dock”. You should select Boat Dock in the Exterior Amenities field if this item is part of your listed property. PLEASE NOTE: You must manually select “Boat Dock” for your listing. Because of the suspected inaccuracy of the previous item in Lot Characteristics, no listings will automatically have “Boat Dock” selected based upon the old “Permitted Boat Dock” item.

Contingent Escape Status – Contingency Reason Field is Now Unlocked If your listing currently has Contingent-Escape status, and “Sale of Home” is not the most accurate description of the reason for contingency, please update your listing now to a more accurate Contingency Reason. When changing a listing to Contingent-Escape status, the MLS system automatically populates “Sale of Home” in the Contingency Reason field. This has not changed. However, prior to March 2013, the field Contingency Reason was locked and could not be modified from “Sale of Home”, even if there was some other description for the contingency reason. This field, Contingency Reason is now unlocked and able to be modified for all listings that are currently Contingent-Escape status. This behavior is similar to the function of Contingent-Fin/Ins.

Clinton County Issued New Parcel Numbers Clinton county auditor has changed the parcel number format for all properties in the entire county. CBR staff will update all Clinton county MLS listings that are currently Active, Contingent, and Under Contract as of March 11, 2013 to the new auditor assigned parcel numbers. The new and old parcel numbers already appear on the auditor website. The old numbers were renamed “map” numbers instead of “parcel number”. Please be aware of this change and use the newly created parcel numbers, not old “map” numbers, for all new Clinton county listings. This will also apply to reactivated listings that were not Active or Contingent as of March 11, 2013. If you reactivate an expired or withdrawn listing that does not have the new 2013 parcel number, please contact the MLS department and have CBR staff update the parcel number for you (614) 475-4000. Announcment from Clinton county Auditor website:

Fusion Users: Rectangle Polygon Shape – Bug Causes Map Search Failure Fusion users who frequently use polygons should be aware that the Rectangle polygon search may cause problems and even search failure. Only the Rectangle polygon causes the problems. This does not appear to affect Multi-facet and Radius polygon shapes at this time. PLEASE NOTE: It is highly recommended that Fusion users AVOID using Rectangle polygon map shapes until this bug is fixed. Users can use the “Polygon Tool” to make a 4-sided polygon that is identical to a Rectangle polygon. The Rectangle Tool itself should not be used for map searching. If a Radius or Multi-sided (Multi-facet) polygon is combined with a Rectangle polygon shape, all polygons in that search may fail. The problem is magnified when the polygons are moved or edited. At this time, the Rectangle polygon shape bug does not appear to affect Tempo, only Fusion.

MLS Taxes (Amt Per Yr) and Tax Year – Time to Update It’s that time of year again to update your listings with the latest property tax information so they are reflective of the 2012 tax year. Most county auditors have updated their tax records to reflect the taxes owed for each parcel in their taxing districts for the 2012 tax year. Voter approved school and bond levies impact those figures usually each year along with any auditor reassessments or owner appeals of property valuation. Since most real estate taxes change annually, it is important that REALTORS®, clients and even sellers be kept apprised of these ever changing figures. Remember, while Realist can autopop the Yearly Taxes and Tax Year for you when you first enter the listing, it does not and cannot automatically update them for you when those figures change. Nevertheless, this routine remains an important manual operation for REALTORS® to complete the beginning of each year.
